There has never been a more important time to increase access to treatment for substance use disorders and advance clinical care, education and research in addiction. Through its new Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship, Dell Medical School is uniquely positioned to provide evidence-based addiction training in a broad array of clinical settings.
The program is principally focused on serving people who have been historically underserved, combined with the teaching and mentorship of a vibrant community of experts throughout The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to becoming highly skilled clinicians, addiction fellowship graduates become leaders in education, research and policy to transform the delivery of treatment and system of care.
The Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to pursue addiction research and scholarly interests throughout Dell Med and UT Austin, including the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Waggoner Center for Alcohol and Addiction Research, Department of Neuroscience, Steve Hicks School of Social Work and College of Pharmacy.
