Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship

Developing Leaders in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care

The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a one-year advanced training program designed to educate and develop clinical and academic leaders in the field of pediatric cardiac intensive care.

The program offers fourth-year fellows exposure to the multidisciplinary management of a variety of critically ill patients with varying cardiovascular pathophysiologic states, including structural and functional abnormalities associated with preoperative and postoperative congenital heart disease and acquired forms of pediatric heart disease. Trainees will also gain experience using mechanical circulatory support and managing heart failure/heart transplant patients.

Faculty and medical professionals affiliated with the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship stand in rows for a team portrait outside and on the top of a building.

The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship is affiliated with Dell Med’s Department of Pediatrics.

Training Facilities

Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

Dell Children’s has a dedicated 36-bed cardiac intensive care unit with established extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, ventricular assist device and heart transplant programs.
