The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (Psychosomatic Medicine) Fellowship trains providers in direct patient care, often as a member of a multidisciplinary team, to screen, diagnose and treat psychiatric illness in people with complex or chronic medical conditions. The program creates an understanding of the relationship between biopsychosocial and biomedical factors in general hospital and outpatient settings through a curriculum that emphasizes a variety of core competencies. Fellows acquire specialized clinical skills strongly grounded in a theoretical knowledge base while learning to work effectively with allied mental health professionals.
The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
