The Pediatric Residency program strives to train physicians who will graduate well-prepared to provide health care in all settings, from primary care pediatrics to highly subspecialized care. We feature an individualized curriculum tailored to the resident’s educational and career goals, and provide comprehensive exposure to both general pediatrics and subspecialty medicine.

Our program has recently expanded to include 21 residents per year and three fourth-year chief residents. Residents rotate primarily at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, which provides highly specialized care to the children of Central Texas.

We invite you to explore our pages, meet our residents and find out more about the program.

The Pediatric Residency program is affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics.

Training Facilities

Residents receive their training at a number of unique sites that emphasize pediatric care. Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is the primary teaching site, and the CommUnityCare East Austin Health Center serves as the main site for the resident continuity clinic and ambulatory experience.
