Child 1

  • 6 blocks: Inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry at Dell Children’s Medical Center
  • 6 blocks: Consultation-liaison psychiatry at Dell Children’s Medical Center
  • 1 block: Child neurology at Dell Children’s Medical Center
  • 13 blocks, 1/2 day: Outpatient CAP at Texas Child Study Center

Child 2

  • 13 blocks, 1 1/2 days per week: Outpatient CAP at Texas Child Study Center
  • 13 blocks, 1 day per week: Clinical selective (varies)
  • 3 blocks, 1 day per week: School consultation
  • 2 blocks, 1 1/2 days per week: Juvenile Justice System
  • 2 blocks, 1/2 day per week: Family therapy
  • 2 blocks, 3 evenings per week: Intensive outpatient program
  • 4 sessions: Community psychiatry at Community Partnership for Children
  • 5 to 7 blocks, time varies: Electives

  • Getting the Framework: Development, Neuroscience and Cultural Competency
  • Assessment: Interviewing Children and Adolescents; Crisis Intervention and Emergency Psychiatry; Psychological Testing
  • Using Evidence: Evidence-Based Medicine, Research Principles, Journal Club
  • Psychopathology and Psychopharmacology: Every other year rotating curriculum A or B; Advanced Psychopharmacology; and Psychopharmacology Case Conference
  • Psychotherapy: CBT, Psychodynamic, Play, Family, Group and Others
  • Being a Psychiatrist: Professionalism, Teaching, History and Practice Practicals
  • Systems-Based Practice: Educational System; Quality Improvement and Patient Safety; Ethics; and every other year rotating curriculum A or B (Models of Care, Policy, Leadership, Advocacy)
