He earned his medical degree at UT Health San Antonio. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys all things sports and working out and enjoying Austin’s food scene. He is also committed to spending time mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.

Elizabeth (Ducky) Duckworth, M.D., MBA, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Claremont McKenna College where she completed a bachelor’s degree in science and management with a biotechnology sequence. She received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Business Administration in health care management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of the hospital, she spends her time giving her dog Winston plenty of scratchies, getting lost on the many hiking trails around Austin and eating breakfast tacos for dinner.

Biography
Chizitam (Chizi) Ibezim, M.D., was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He attended The University of Missouri-Kansas City where he completed a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. He also received his medical degree from The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys cooking and eating barbecue, wood-burning crafts, watching college football (“Hook ‘em!”), pro football (“Go Chiefs!”), basketball and spending time exploring with his wife.

Biography
Bandele Okelana, M.D., was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia where he studied ecology. He completed medical school in Minneapolis and relocated to Austin for residency. While not at work, he enjoys road cycling, building racing drones and following Sixers basketball.

Biography
Laura Bashour, M.D., was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Vanderbilt University, where she completed bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and Spanish. She received a master’s degree in structural engineering from UT Austin and worked as a forensic engineer in Dallas, Texas, before earning her medical degree at Dell Medical School. She then completed her Master of Design in Health at UT Austin. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, trying to keep plants alive, running, hiking and traveling.
Kathryn Canavan

Kathryn Canavan, M.D., was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She attended The University of Texas at Dallas where she earned a bachelor’s of science in biology. Petar Golijanin, M.D., MBA, was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and raised in Novi Sad, Serbia. He moved to the U.S. at the age of 18 to attend Merrimack College, where he played on varsity tennis team. He received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and his MBA at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, playing tennis and exploring the city’s food scene.

Qais Zai, M.D., was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and grew up in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Houston, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in biology, and received a master’s in physiology from the University of Cincinnati. Grant McHorse, M.D., was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He attended Duke University where he studied public policy and chemistry before returning to Texas to earn his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Malik Morgan, M.D., was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Austin, Texas. He attended the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he studied health sciences with a concentration in human physiology. He also competed at the Division I level on the Men’s Soccer Team. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, trying new foods and going to the movies.

Stephanie Price, M.D., MPH, grew up in Roseville, California. She attended Cal Poly Pomona where she earned a degree in philosophy. She earned her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University, where she also completed a Masters in Public Health. After medical school she completed a general surgery internship and then served for several years in the U.S. Navy as an operational medical officer before returning to residency. Outside of orthopaedics, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, being outdoors, triathlon and finding the best places in town to eat!
Ayane Rossano

Ayane (Aya) Rossano, M.D., M.S., was born in Japan and raised in Bellevue, Washington. She attended Rice University in Houston where she studied kinesiology with a concentration in sports medicine and competed as a Division I pole vaulter on the track team. She completed a dual-degree program at UT Austin Dell Medical School, receiving a Master of Science in Health Care Transformation in addition to her medical degree. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, aerial activities, cooking, and searching for the best taco in Austin.

Ebubechi Adindu, M.D., was born and raised in Houston, TX. He attended the University of Kentucky where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in biology and a Bachelor’s of Arts in chemistry. Outside of orthopaedics he enjoys trying new restaurants, playing video games, all things basketball and spending time with his friends and family. Nicholas Girardi, M.D., was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. He played college basketball for a year at Drake University and finished undergrad at CU Boulder graduating summa cum laude in neuroscience. He earned his medical degree at University of Colorado.
