Welcome to our Pediatric Hospitalist Fellowship website. We hope that you will find these pages and links to be a rich source of information about our fellowship. Our goal is to train the next generation of hospitalist clinician-educators to be leaders. We have a large and experienced group of hospitalist clinician-educators that have achieved many levels of educational, administrative and national leadership – a well-balanced faculty group for your training. We also work at the most environmentally friendly freestanding children’s hospital in the world and get to live in a city that is always voted one of the “coolest” places to live.

Our two-year fellowship focuses on developing clinical expertise, educational abilities, quality improvement skills, scholarship experience and leadership through a learner-centered curriculum. We function as ward attendings and cover the vast majority of the medical patients on the acute care and intermediate care units. There is a wealth of opportunities to advance clinical skills through the diversity of disease in our daily census. Our role as core faculty for both the Dell Medical School Residency Program as well as the local Texas A&M and UTMB student clerkships means that educational opportunities go hand in hand with the clinical time. Close mentorship will be provided as fellows experience local quality improvement training, work on a scholarly project throughout the year, and engage in practical leadership case-studies through time with our faculty.

Flexibility is a core attribute of our program. We welcome candidates with a strong interest in academic careers and focused professional goals, and we will work to ensure that those goals are met in the context of our core curriculum.

Please take time to learn more about our program by visiting these pages, or calling or emailing at any time.
