Craniofacial & Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship

Delivering Robust Training Across the Spectrum of Craniofacial Conditions

Comprehensive in nature, the Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin offers unique didactic opportunities in both adult and pediatric craniofacial surgery while providing exposure to pediatric plastic surgery, training in microsurgical techniques and exposure to congenital and acquired conditions in children and adults.

Integrated with the multidisciplinary Craniofacial Team at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, this program helps fellows develop knowledge and technical ability in treating craniofacial conditions. The program seeks applicants interested in pursuing academic medicine who have strong academic and research backgrounds and performed well in their residency.

The program is Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited, making it one of only a handful of formally accredited programs in the U.S.

The Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship is sponsored by The University of Texas Medical Branch and affiliated with the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care.

Training Facilities

Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

Fellows train mostly at Dell Children’s, the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility and pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in the region. Serving a 46-county area and beyond, this site is the premier health care provider for children and adolescents in Central Texas.

Dell Seton Medical Center at UT Austin.

Dell Seton Medical Center is the area’s primary hospital for adult craniofacial surgical patients. As a teaching hospital, Dell Seton trains and attracts talented and specialized doctors, improving care throughout Central Texas. Through education, training and research, Dell Seton serves as a vital link to the future of care in our community.

About the Application Process

Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited training program in plastic surgery to be considered for the program.

Comprehensive & Dynamic Training

The curriculum offers a breadth of training procedures focused mainly on pediatrics but including adult plastic surgery procedures.
