Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School!  Our Pediatric Residency Program is a robust training program with a long history of excellence.  We strive to train physicians who will graduate well prepared to provide care in all situations, from primary care pediatrics to highly subspecialized care. We feature an individualized curriculum tailored to the resident’s educational and career goals and provide comprehensive exposure to both general pediatrics and subspecialty medicine. Our residents have a distinguished record of accomplishments in advocacy and research at both the local and national level.  The new Dell Medical School Distinctions Program offers an exceptional opportunity for additional training in care transformation.

Our program has recently expanded to 21 residents per year and three fourth-year chief residents.  Residents primarily rotate at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, which provides highly specialized care to the children of Central Texas.  The ambulatory experience at East Austin Health Center provides residents comprehensive training in primary care pediatrics while serving a medically underserved population.

Our residency program is located in Austin, Texas-one of the fastest growing cities in the nation.  Whether it is eating out, attending our world renowned music festivals or participating in the multitude of outdoor recreation activities available, Austin provides ample opportunities for residents and their families to have fun.

We invite you to explore our website, meet our residents and find out more about the program
