About the Event

In this installment of the Department of Ophthalmology and Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute’s Continuing Medical Education Series, Aman Mittal, M.D., presents “Shedding Light on Dry Eye Dilemmas: An Insightful Update.” Mittal is an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dell Medical School.

Enjoy a reception from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The lecture follows from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Review the normal anatomy and physiology of the components of the ocular surface and their relation to dry eye syndrome.
  2. Discuss various ocular surface diseases that lead to dry eye syndrome and their pathophysiologies.
  3. Review the available medical and surgical treatments for dry eye syndrome/ocular surface disease, their mechanisms of action and appropriate uses.

Target Audience

  • Primary: Physicians in ophthalmology
  • Secondary: Any discipline physicians and physician extenders
