The Neuroendovascular Fellowship offers structured and advanced training in endovascular procedures, which include neuroendovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, endovascular neurosurgery, surgical neuroangiography, interventional neurology and endovascular surgical neuroradiology.
Training requirements are tailored to the clinical background of each applicant in alignment with the current requirements set by the Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training and the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
Eligibility
- M.D or D.O.
- U.S citizenship or permanent resident
- Radiologists: Completion of a radiology ACGME residency and a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship
- Neurologists: Completion of a neurology ACGME residency and a one-year stroke/vascular neurology fellowship or two-year neurocritical care fellowship
- Neurosurgeons: Completion of a neurosurgery ACGME residency
How to Apply
Applications for the 2026 program cycle should be submitted via email to the program coordinator.
Starting with the 2027 program, the fellowship will participate in the Neurointerventional Fellowship Match through the National Resident Matching Program. Applicants must apply through the ERAS system beginning Fall 2025. Interviews will be conducted during the winter, and the match is scheduled for May 2026.
Only complete applications will be reviewed.
The following documents must be included with your application:
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty members or mentors submitted on official letterhead and signed (At least one letter should be from the department chair or neuroradiology, stroke or neurocritical care fellowship program director.)
- Official copies of USMLE or COMLEX score reports
- Curriculum vitae
- A personal statement outlining your interest in pursuing a career in this subspecialty
- For international medical graduates, a copy of your current Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certificate
- Email confirmation of your current visa status, if applicable
- A recent photograph
Interview Process
The program director and faculty will review all applications, and invitations for interviews will be extended to selected candidates. Interviews will be conducted in person in Austin, Texas, where interviewees will have the opportunity to meet with faculty members.
