Thank you for your interest in the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship program at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. The primary mission of our program is to train cardiac electrophysiology fellows to become proficient at performing standard and complex ablations as well as placement of cardiac electrophysiology devices. We offer our fellows a high volume of procedures with which to achieve competitive skills and sound clinical judgment when managing patients with arrhythmias both in and out of the hospital.
Our program offers a robust, didactic curriculum with dedicated faculty serving as mentors in clinical practice and research. We have participated in multiple clinical trials involving implantable cardiac devices, pharmaceutical agents, electroanatomical mapping systems, implantable loop recorders and novel non-invasive diagnostic technologies, among others. Our fellows are highly encouraged to participate in research projects in addition to their clinical training.
We strive to create an outstanding cardiac electrophysiology training program in Central Texas with national and international recognition. The success of our fellows is our success, and we are invested in providing them with all the necessary tools to achieve professional excellence.
Embedded in Texas’ Hill Country, Austin offers scenic lakes, hiking and biking trails, water activities — including the renowned Barton Springs Pool — outstanding music and food scenes, excellent schools, year-round sun and a thriving medical district. Diversity defines the city of Austin. It truly is a great place to live and raise a family.
If you are interested in joining our program or have any questions, please contact our program coordinator — or feel free to reach out to me directly as well.
Sincerely,
Mauricio F. Hong, M.D., FHRS
