Pursuing Excellence in Endocrine-Focused Care, Education & Training

The Division of Endocrinology in Dell Medical School’s Department of Internal Medicine aims to become a center of excellence in the clinical practice of endocrinology, providing patient-centered and evidence-based care to Central Texas’ growing population, including innovations in care delivery.

Additionally, the division strives to enhance Dell Med’s educational efforts by providing medical students and physicians with focused training in endocrine-related disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease and more.

Education

Faculty members within the division have a history of recognition for teaching excellence, and they serve as an integral part of the Internal Medicine Residency training program. The division is also embedded within Dell Med’s innovative undergraduate medical education curriculum, providing medical students with education in diabetes, endocrinology, and chronic disease prevention and management.

Clinical Care

Division faculty members deliver care with a number of clinical partners across the Central Texas region. Inpatient care focuses on diabetes management and endocrinology care at Ascension Seton hospitals — including Dell Seton Medical Center and Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. The division’s outpatient care takes place UT Health Austin, CommUnity Care Health Centers and Ascension Seton’s AMG Medical Specialties Clinic.

Additional clinical programs within the division include multidisciplinary pituitary care, post-transplant diabetes care and multidisciplinary endocrine-surgery programs. The division aims to expand programs, bringing more comprehensive endocrinology care to Austin residents.
