About the Event
Join W. Michael Brode, M.D., for an upcoming Internal Medicine Grand Rounds presentation, “The Science of Long COVID and a Practical Framework for Care.” Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the epidemiology and pathophysiology of Long COVID, as well as practical, evidence-based strategies for evaluating and managing patients experiencing long-term effects of COVID-19. Participants will learn to identify different Long COVID sequelae, review emerging research on immune dysregulation and neurovascular dysfunction, and apply a stepwise framework for patient care.
Dr. Brode is a board-certified internist who specializes in caring for individuals living with Long COVID and leads a multidisciplinary team focused on clinical care, rehabilitation, patient education and embedded research. His work spans complex illness management, clinical informatics and health systems innovation, including developing evidence-based treatment protocols adopted across a national hospital network during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
1. Identify epidemiology of Long COVID and categorization of different sequelae following acute infection.
2. Review emerging understanding of the Long COVID pathophysiology, including immune dysregulation and neurovascular dysfunction.
3. Apply a practical, stepwise framework for Long COVID management.
