Welcome to the Dermatology Residency at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin! This is an exciting time for medicine in Austin as Dell Med continues to expand medical training, research and community health outreach in Central Texas. Dell Med’s vision is to create a “vital, inclusive health ecosystem,” and our residents and faculty work toward that end every day. Community engagement and care for people who face the greatest obstacles to getting care is a critical aspect of our program.

However, we know that before we can look outward and care for the community, we must ensure that we ourselves, our families and our “work family” are whole and thriving. We aim to propagate a culture in which we consistently look out for each other, something we’ve thought about a lot over the last couple of years as we have battled the COVID-19 pandemic. Our program’s core values are integrity, caring and excellence. I feel blessed to work at a place where my colleagues (residents, faculty and staff) consistently embody those qualities in their interactions with our patients, our clinical partners and each other.

In addition to being a great place to train, Austin is a great place to live and is frequently named one of the most livable cities in the country. We invite you to get to know our program and our people, and we look forward to the opportunity to learn more about you.
