About

S. Tyler Hollmig, M.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Dermatology. He is also director of dermatologic surgery and director of laser and cosmetic dermatology for the department.

Hollmig was recruited to Dell Medical School after serving for five years as assistant and then associate professor of dermatology at Stanford University, where he was Mohs surgeon and director of laser and aesthetic dermatology.

Hollmig is a national leader in the fields of Mohs surgery, advanced surgical reconstruction and laser and cosmetic dermatology. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on these topics and lectures extensively at regional and national meetings. Hollmig is also frequently interviewed by the popular media, including the New York Times, Good Morning America, Vogue and many others.

Hollmig grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, and attended Duke University, graduating magna cum laude. He then attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and graduated as valedictorian and winner of the Ho Din Award for most outstanding medical student. Hollmig underwent dermatology residency training at Stanford University Medical Center, followed by dermatologic surgery fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina.

His clinical interests include advanced, highly aesthetic surgical reconstruction; removal of high-risk skin cancers; and laser and cosmetic dermatology. Hollmig is also interested in skin health and skin aging and serves as an adviser to a number of companies developing diagnostics and interventions.
