About

Natalie Wise, M.D., is a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in the prevention of esophageal, gastric and colon cancers. Her clinical interests also include iron deficiency anemia, celiac disease and other nutrient malabsorptive disorders. She has expertise in performing endoscopic procedures including esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy, as well as the management of common gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. Central to her practice philosophy is the delivery of personalized, whole-person care of the highest quality and the respectful treatment of each patient as an individual with unique circumstances, priorities and beliefs.

As a faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Dell Medical School she is committed to advancing patient care, medical education and research in the field of gastroenterology. In addition to her clinical activities, Wise is active in education. She strives to cultivate learning across a spectrum of learners from medical students to colleagues.

Wise earned her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from the University College Dublin School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she also earned a graduate certificate in clinical sciences.

Her research has focused on malabsorption, iron metabolism and celiac disease. She has served on education and training committees for the American Gastroenterological Association and has been recognized for excellence in patient care, receiving the University of Minnesota Physicians Clinical Excellence Award as well as the Essentia Health 5-Star Award for Patient Satisfaction. Wise is an active member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association.
