About

Michael Shapiro is a co-partner at Pulmonary and Critical Care Consultants of Austin, where he is described as an excellent instructor and is sensitive to patients’ needs. He conducts research on the evaluation of inspiratory/ expiratory muscle training in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients and the evaluation of quality of life and pimax pemax measurements in COPD patients. Shapiro’s area of focus is the management of respiratory complications related to neuromuscular diseases such as quadriplegia, cerebral palsy and chronic respiratory failure.
