About
Mehdi “Matt” Mirsaeidi, M.D., MPH, is a physician–scientist specializing in pulmonary inflammation, environmental health and respiratory infections.
Mirsaeidi’s research laboratory focuses on developing novel biomarkers for the diagnosis of respiratory diseases and discovering new therapeutic agents for lung disorders. His team is currently advancing bacteriophage-based therapeutics targeting multidrug-resistant pathogens and cancer-associated bacteria. In parallel, his lab actively investigates the impact of dust exposure and microplastics on lung cancer and pulmonary inflammation, with an emphasis on identifying protective therapies for both civilians and military personnel.
He is also an entrepreneur with multiple scientific discoveries and issued patents.
