Additionally, Dr. Buckley is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Buckley earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Buckley is actively involved in clinical research and has authored more than 30 publications, presented at hundreds of national meetings, and participates in multiple clinical trials to advance patient care. He is committed to training the next generation of surgeons as well as practicing surgeons in cutting-edge surgical techniques, with over 200 surgeons having observed him operate or served as their proctor/mentor. In 2012, he was diagnosed with severe reflux and Barrett’s esophagus and underwent one of the procedures he now performs and teaches, giving him a unique perspective and deep empathy for his patients.
