CPAN/PeriPAN & TCHATT at Dell Med
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Dell Medical School manages several statewide initiatives to improve access to child and adolescent mental health services in Central Texas on behalf of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium.
Dell Med operates the Child and Perinatal Psychiatry Access Networks, Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine and Youth Aware of Mental Health for 13 Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Cornell, Fayette, Hamilton, Hays, Lampasas, Lee, Mills, Travis and Williamson.
Dell Med is one of 12 health-related institutions in the consortium, which leverages the expertise and resources of these institutions to address youth mental health challenges and improve Texas’ mental health care system.
Child Psychiatry Access Network
Dell Med’s CPAN/PeriPAN program offers real-time access to a multidisciplinary network of mental health experts — including child and perinatal psychiatrists — for peer-to-peer consults by phone, personalized referrals and resources and continuing medical education opportunities. The program is evidence-based, offered at no cost to providers and overseen by TCMHCC.
Primary care providers in Dell Med’s CPAN/PeriPAN catchment area can call 888-901-2727 (Option 3 and then Option 1), or text 512-575-2601 to receive a callback within 30 minutes for a peer-to-peer consult with a pediatric or perinatal psychiatrist. They can ask questions about assessments and symptoms, medication management, resource and referral navigation, diagnostic clarification and more.

Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine
Dell Med’s TCHATT program partners with public school districts and charters across Central Texas to offer students free virtual mental health care visits with licensed clinicians. The program, overseen statewide by TCMHCC, is paid for by the state and does not require any insurance.
Guardians and school staff in Dell Med’s TCHATT catchment area can call 512-222-5729 (Option 4), or email TCHATTschoolsupport@ascension.org to reach the Dell Med TCHATT school support team. The school support team can answer questions about enrollment, referrals, behavioral health resources and more.
