Samantha Symons, M.D.

Samantha Symons, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Symons is a board-certified psychiatrist with a private practice that combines medication management and psychotherapy. She is the owner and medical director of Bluebird Psychiatry, a psychiatric practice of advanced practice registered nurses trained in a mindful, collaborative approach with the patient-provider connection at the forefront.

Symons is an engaged educator in both the undergraduate and graduate levels at The University of Texas at Austin. She is passionate about combining the humanities and medical education, teaching psychodynamic principles to all psychiatric providers and connecting the academic, medical and therapy communities.
