Whiting, appointed senior associate vice president and chief development officer for The University of Texas at Austin’s academic health system and its anchor, Dell Medical School, joins the enterprise at a defining moment.

Most recently, Whiting served as chief development officer and executive director at the McCombs School of Business, where he led one of UT’s largest advancement teams and delivered historic results.
Under his leadership, annual fundraising reached a record $118 million in fiscal year 2025. In addition, he helped exceed the $150 million goal for Mulva Hall and played a central role in surpassing the school’s $575 million capital campaign goal 18 months ahead of schedule, with $735 million raised to date.
Beyond these outcomes, Whiting strengthened development operations, elevated the donor experience and fostered a culture of accountability and collaboration. His relationship-driven approach positioned advancement as a strategic partner to academic and administrative leadership.
