Jonathan MacClements appointed inaugural chief of culture, professionalism and institutional integrity

Jonathan MacClements, M.D.

As Dell Medical School and the academic health system it anchors continue to grow, MacClements will lead enterprise-wide efforts to strengthen professional standards and institutional integrity across the organization. 

In this executive leadership role, he will help shape the culture, leadership expectations and professional environments that are essential to the long-term success of the integrated academic health system we are building. He will serve as a strategic advisor and work closely with leaders throughout the future health system to foster shared understanding, support consistent approaches and ensure that organizational culture reflects the values articulated in the Health Starts Here strategic plan. 

About Jonathan MacClements

Over a career spanning more than three decades in academic medicine, MacClements has made exceptional contributions to graduate medical education, faculty development, clinical operations, accreditation and organizational leadership. At Dell Medical School, he helped expand residency and fellowship training programs that collectively contribute more than 575,000 hours of patient care annually while advancing learning environments grounded in professionalism, collaboration and patient-centered care.   

A widely respected educator and mentor, MacClements is a recipient of the UT System Board of Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award and previously served as president of the Travis County Medical Society. In addition, he is a colonel in the Texas State Guard and acts as commander of the 6th Brigade.
