The appointment signals a pivotal step in the school’s evolution from a groundbreaking medical school to a world-class, integrated academic health system that’s defining the future of health in Central Texas and beyond.
As the first chief marketing and communications officer for the emerging academic medical center anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, April Anderson, MBA, will lead efforts to amplify the medical center’s growing local, national and global impact.
Anderson brings more than 25 years of strategic experience in health care marketing, communications and digital innovation. Most recently, she served as chief marketing and digital experience officer for the Central Division of Providence St. Joseph Health, where she led brand and growth marketing across five states, supporting 25 hospitals and more than 480 clinics. Her leadership has shaped data-driven campaigns, built high-performing teams and advanced digital strategies at scale — all with a focus on connecting communities to person-centered care.
As the medical center brings Austin into focus as a premier destination for care, learning and discovery, Anderson’s leadership will be key to connecting with patients, learners and partners across Texas and beyond.
