About the Event
Research is an essential and integral component of academic medicine, and the Fifth Annual Shine Awards for Excellence in Research and Research Mentorship recognize excellence in both the achievements of our trainees and mentorship by our faculty members.
Methodius Tuuli, M.D., MBA, MPH, delivers the keynote address. Tuuli is the Chace-Joukowsky Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves as chair for the department at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Three trainee research project awardees are recognized and asked to briefly present their work at the Fifth Annual Shine Awards for Excellence in Research and Research Mentorship. An award is presented to a faculty member for excellence in research mentorship.
The awards are made possible through the generosity of Ken Shine, M.D., courtesy professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Dell Med and former executive vice chancellor for health affairs at UT.
