About the Event
In this installment of Pediatric Grand Rounds, Ann E. Burke, MD, MBA, FAAP, and David A. Turner, M.D., present “Preparing the Next Generation of Pediatricians: Continuing the Transition to
Competency-Based Education and Assessment.
Burke is the program director for the Pediatric Residency Program in the Department of Pediatrics at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Turner is an adjunct professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at Duke’s Children’s Hospital.

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Discuss the general principles of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs)
- Describe CBME and EPA research to date in pediatrics
- Explain how CBME and EPAs are being integrated into the training and certification process in pediatric
