Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
1. Apply a ‘rule-in’ diagnostic approach to functional neurologic disorder using positive clinical signs and recognize how early diagnostic confidence can reduce overmedicalization and accelerate recovery.
2. Identify strategies to effectively validate and communicate the diagnosis of functional neurologic disorder to patients and families.
3. Recognize the overlap of functional disorders across organ systems and importance of multidisciplinary communication to align treatment approach around shared behavioral and rehabilitative strategies.
Target Audience
- Primary: Pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, family medicine physicians and pediatric residents
- Secondary: Nursing and hospital Staff
