The Oskar Fischer Lecture Series features invited scholars working at the vanguard of new ideas on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of dementing illnesses.
Walter J. Koroshetz, M.D., presents “The Golden Age of Neurosciences.” Koroshetz serves as the director for the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, where he has led transformative initiatives in neuroscience since 2015. A driving force behind the NIH BRAIN Initiative and the HEAL Initiative to combat opioid addiction, he also co-leads programs addressing long COVID, undiagnosed diseases and emergency care research. He chairs the Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee and has played a pivotal role in advancing stroke imaging and neurocritical care.
