About the Event

In this installment of Orthopaedic Grand Rounds, Derek Kelly, M.D., presents “Pediatric Firearm-Related Injuries.” Kelly is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He treats a wide variety of pediatric orthopedic conditions.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Be aware of the most recent advancements in the diagnosis and management of pediatric firearm-related injuries
  2. Identify the most common pediatric firearm-related injuries and their initial management.
  3. Articulate the problem in operative vs. non-operative management of pediatric firearm-related injuries.

Target Audience

Orthopaedic surgeons, mid-level providers, residents, fellows, medical students and researchers.
