About the Event

In this installment of the Department of Ophthalmology and Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute’s Continuing Medical Education Series, Michael Frankland, M.D.. and Thomas Khuu, M.D., present “Little Eyes, Big Lessons: Pediatric Ophthalmology Case Files.” Frankland and Khuu are ophthalmology residents at Dell Medical School.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Apply evidence‑based diagnostic approaches to evaluate common and complex pediatric ophthalmic conditions using case‑based analysis.
  2. Develop age‑appropriate, guideline‑concordant management plans for pediatric eye diseases, incorporating medical, surgical, and developmental considerations.
  3. Identify red‑flag findings and care‑coordination needs that require urgent intervention, referral, or multidisciplinary collaboration in pediatric ophthalmology.

Target Audience

  • Primary: Physicians in ophthalmology
  • Secondary: Any discipline physicians and physician extenders
