About the Event

Elizabeth T. Gershoff, Ph.D., presents a writing crash course for National Institutes of Health grants. Gershoff is the director for the Population Research Center and the Amy Johnson McLaughlin Centennial Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at UT’s College of Liberal Arts. She also serves as the executive director for the UT Austin Federal Statistical Research Data Center.

This activity is presented by Dell Med’s Department of Internal Medicine.

Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Identify funding mechanisms with NIH.
  2. Discuss the application review and scoring processes at the NIH.
  3. Apply strategies to write more effective and successful grant applications.

Target Audience

  • Primary: Department of Internal Medicine faculty, residents and fellows as well as associate providers
  • Secondary: Medical students
