In this installment of Neurosurgery Grand Rounds, Vincent Wang, M.D., Ph.D., presents “Pulmonary Complications in Acute Traumatic Brain Injuries.” Wang is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Dell Medical School.

Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Describe the prevalence of pulmonary complications (acute lung injury) in traumatic brain injury
- Explain the pathophysiology of acute lung injury in traumatic brain injury
- Identify some potential risk factors for developing acute lung injury in traumatic brain injury
