About the Event
In this installment of Neurosurgery Grand Rounds, Robert Spinner, M.D., presents “Making Something Out of (Nearly) Nothing: Clinical Research in Peripheral Nerve Surgery.” Spinner serves as chair of the Department of Neurologic Surgery and is the Burton M. Onofrio, M.D. Professor of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic. He is also a professor of orthopedics and anatomy.

Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Highlight the ‘power of one’ (i.e., a single case)
- Review the evolving role of and rationale for nerve biopsy
- Describe new mechanisms of tumor propagation
- Demonstrate how simple ideas can be disruptive
