About the Event

In this installment of Neurology Grand Rounds, Deonna Reese-White, M.D., MBA, presents “Women in Neurology.” Reese-White is a neurology resident at Dell Medical School.

Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Identify key historical figures and milestones in the journey of women neurologists, highlighting their contributions to the field.
  2. Discuss the changing societal and professional perceptions of women in neurology over time, including key barriers and challenges faced.
  3. Explore the impact of gender biases on women’s career advancement and representation in neurology from past to present.
  4. Describe current initiatives to promote gender equity and inclusivity in neurology and examine ongoing challenges that women neurologists face today.

Target Audience

  • Primary: Neurosurgeons, neurologist and other medical specialties
  • Secondary: Nursing staff, residents, students and allied health professions
