About the Event
In this installment of Neurology Grand Rounds, E. Steve Roach, M.D., presents “The Twelve Pitfalls of Vitamin B12 Deficiency.” Roach is an associate chair for clinical integration and operations in the Department of Neurology. He is also a professor in the departments of Neurology and Pediatrics as well as assistant dean for faculty academic affairs at Dell Medical School.

Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Review the history of the description of vitamin B12 and its deficiency state
- Describe the way vitamin B12 is absorbed
- Identify ways to improve the recognition of vitamin B12 deficiency
- Describe selected disorders that promote secondary B12 deficiency
