In this installment of Neurology Grand Rounds, Stephanie Wottrich, M.D., presents “Pain, from A to C (Acute to Chronic).” Wottrich is a 4th-year Adult Neurology resident at Dell Medical School.

Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Describe the historical intersection of pain theories with pain pathophysiology (generation, perpetuation, and inhibition)
- Understand some of the main limitations of pain diagnostics and classification
- Define the goals and timeline of the NIH A2CPS consortium’s longitudinal program
- Identify select neurological biomarkers/biosignatures associated with predicting pain sensitivity and the transition to a chronic state
Target Audience
- Primary: Neurosurgeons, neurologist, nurses, residents, medical students
- Secondary: Other health professions
