About the Event
In this installment of Neurology Grand Rounds, Husniye Kantarci, Ph.D., presents “Glial Control of Neural Excitability in the Nervous System.” Kantarci is an assistant professor in the Department of Neuroscience at UT’s College of Natural Sciences.

Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Explore different glial cell types and discuss their functions in neural development.
- Discuss the role of glia in inducing sensory neuron excitability during development.
- Identify new ways that glia contribute to neurological diseases.
Target Audience
- Primary: Neurosurgeons, neurologist and other medical specialties
- Secondary: Nursing staff, residents, students and allied health professions
