This installment of the Maternal Health ECHO Series is “Substance Use Impacts on Infertility and Miscarriage.”
This series explores the intersection of maternal health and substance use disorder, sharing strategies to support pregnant and postpartum individuals with comprehensive, trauma-informed care. Sessions include a brief education presentation, real-world cases and group discussion to address challenges and best practices. These expert-led discussions equip providers with the knowledge and tools to support material health and recovery.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
- Apply evidence-based screening tools to accurately identify and assess mental health and substance use disorders in pregnant and postpartum women.
- Implement evidence-based treatments for mental health and substance use disorders.
- Develop skills to improve care coordination and support positive maternal and infant health outcomes.
- Understand the co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions associated with maternal substance use and develop strategies for their integrated and concurrent treatment.
- Recognize and address unique challenges in care access for women in underserved and rural areas.
