About the Event

In this installment of the Leadership Starts Here: Faculty Development Workshop Series, Luanne Thorndyke, M.D., presents “Utilizing Temperaments to Enhance Your Self Awareness and Leadership Effectiveness.”

This highly interactive session is designed to promote personal insights. Participants may utilize insights gained from the presentation to strategically build stronger teams, increase the impact of their communications and enhance their effectiveness as leaders.

Objectives:

  • Discover a personal style and learn about other temperament styles.
  • Describe how temperament affects our work in groups and our reactions to others.
  • Utilize personal knowledge of temperaments to enhance communication and team building.
  • Analyze conflict situations and consider solutions utilizing the lens of temperament.

Thorndyke is a consultant and coach with 25 years of medical school leadership experience at three academic health sciences institutions. She also serves as an affiliate professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts’ Chan Medical School.

Presented by Dell Medical School’s Office of Faculty Academic Affairs, the Leadership Starts Here series is a monthly faculty development workshop designed for Dell Med faculty members who are actively engaged in or aspiring to team leadership roles in academic health care education and application as well as biomedical science fields. Presenters help faculty members develop leadership competencies related to self, interpersonal relationships and complex academic health care organizations.
