In this installment of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds, Kanade Shinkai, M.D., Ph.D., presents “The Emerging Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Dermatology.” Shinkai is a professor of dermatology at University of California, San Francisco’s School of Medicine.

Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. List examples of AI use in dermatology clinical practice.
  2. Describe the use of large language models, such as ChatGPT, in dermatologic practice.
  3. Discuss key controversies of AI use in dermatology clinical practice and academics.

  • Secondary: Department of Internal Medicine residents and health care team members
