About the Event

In this installment of Internal Medicine Grand Rounds, Gabrielle Berger, M.D., presents “Becoming a Doctor: Belonging and Identity in Medical Education.” Berger is an assistant professor of general internal medicine at University of Washington School of Medicine.

Objectives

By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:

  1. Identify key elements and experiences in medical training that contribute to professionalism.
  2. Assess strategies to support graduated autonomy for learners at different levels of training.
  3. Compare “wellness” versus “wholeness” as the foundation to sustain a healthy profession.

Target Audience

  • Primary: Department of Internal Medicine faculty
  • Secondary: Department of Internal Medicine residents and health care team members
