About the Event

Dell Medical School’s Health Transformation Research Institute and UT’s Texas Biologics have partnered to accelerate translational research projects that aim to uncover mechanisms of disease in order to target for the development of therapeutics or to identify new therapeutic approaches or diagnostic tools.

The open house is an opportunity to connect lab and clinical scientists. Emerging research teams will have the chance to apply for fiscal support, including study coordinator, biobanking logistics and $5,000 towards participant compensation and laboratory-based materials. Ascension physicians may also be eligible for a portion of their salary effort to ensure adequate protected time to devote to research.

Health themes include:

  • The molecular underpinnings of cell adhesions in diseased/damaged organs
  • Engineering highly modular biomaterials-centric molecular probes and drug delivery systems that harness pathological microenvironment
  • The neural foundations of cognitive control
  • Develop novel cellular-based therapeutics for pediatric neurological disorders
  • Kidney/pancreas transplantation
