About the Event
In this installment of Health Social Work Grand Rounds, Rocío Calvo, Ph.D., presents “Advancing Culturally and Linguistically Congruent Health Equity.” Calvo is a professor of Global Practice, assistant dean of Community Engagement, and founding director of the Latinx Leadership Initiative at the Boston College School of Social Work.
Participants will explore and examine the impact of systemic stressors on social workers and develop practical tools and strategies to reconnect with their authentic selves, advocate for their needs, and foster resilience in themselves and their clients.
Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.

- Interprofessional and multidisciplinary health care providers, educators, and students.
Objectives
- Examine the impact of systemic stressors on social workers, including funding instability, political instability, organizational constraints and ethical dilemmas.
- Explore the concept of moral injury in helping professionals and its connection to disconnection from authenticity and purpose.
- Develop practical tools and strategies to reconnect with their authentic selves, advocate for their needs and foster resilience in themselves and their clients.
