About the Event
Nikhil Dhurandhar, Ph.D., and Simone Chaves de Miranda Silvestre, M.D., M.Sc., presents “Fat Loss, Not Just Weight Loss.” They underscore the significance of focusing on fat loss and preserving lean body mass in obesity management as well as address practical aspects of identifying lean body mass loss in clinical practice and suggest nutritional approaches to minimize the loss of lean body mass.
Dhurandhar is a Paul W. Horn Distinguished Professor, Helen Devitt Jones Endowed Chair, chairperson of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and associate dean for innovation for the College of Health and Human Sciences at Texas Tech University. Miranda leads the Department of Nutrology and the Multidisciplinary Nutrition Therapy Team at Hospital Felício Rocho.
This lecture is co-presented by the Department of Internal Medicine at Dell Medical School and the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Natural Sciences.
