In this installment of the Extraordinary Learning and Teaching in the Clinical Setting series, Saurin Gandhi, D.O., Kelly Kovaric, M.D., and Jananie Ramesh, M.D. present “Teaching CQI & Safety.” Gandhi is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. Kovaric is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Ramesh is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine.

The Extraordinary Learning and Teaching in the Clinical Setting series is a faculty development workshop that occurs weekly with the goal of exploring strategies for teaching. Sessions include peer-to-peer discussion, case studies, simulations and practice with feedback, drawing on evidence from the medical education literature.
Objectives
By the end of this presentation, the audience participant should be able to:
1. Develop a conceptual framework for teaching learners about QI
2. Describe AAMC & ACGME entrustable professional activities for QI
3. Identify opportunities for teaching QI in your learning environment
4. Identify and address learner gaps in QI knowledge
5. Describe best-practices for teaching QI
