About the Event

Being Still in Uncertainty: What separates elite performers in moments of crisis isn’t speed, certainty or confidence. It’s stillness.

Presented by Alana Beard, WNBA Hall of Fame Inductee.

About the Conversation

“Being Still in Uncertainty” is a conversation built around one of the rarest and most undervalued skills in high-performance environments which is the ability to remain internally anchored when everything around you is shifting. Drawing from pivotal moments across her 15-year professional career, a career-threatening injury, and multiple reinventions, this talk explores what it actually means to lead through uncertainty with clarity, purpose and presence. It is not about having the answers. It is about developing the discipline to find them.

Featured speaker

Alana Beard was born and raised in Shreveport, La., and is the founder and president of the 318 Foundation. She retired in January 2020 after 15 years and was later inducted into the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2023 and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.
