About

Travis Laird, MHA, guides the creation of the University’s specialty hospital as part of The University of Texas Medical Center, anchored by Dell Medical School. He collaborates with the senior leadership team to integrate care aligned with the clinical practice growth strategy, overseeing implementation of advanced technology, systems, space utilization and patient flow, and collaborating with clinical leaders on program development within the new specialty hospital. Laird also ensures close collaboration with MD Anderson.

Laird has led or assisted in the capital planning and activation of 5 million square feet of hospital, emergency department and outpatient space. Prior to joining The University of Texas at Austin, he spent 18 years at Cleveland Clinic, where he held roles as vice president of international and emerging markets, executive director of international operations and chief business operations officer, among others. For Cleveland Clinic London, he was responsible for designing and implementing the operating model, combining the best of UK health care with Cleveland Clinic. Additionally, Laird led nonclinical operations, including supply chain, protective services, patient support services, enterprise analytics, facilities and estates, and the project management office.

He holds a Master of Health Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, and is an alumnus of the Cleveland Clinic Administrative Fellowship Program.
