About

Sheryl Yanger, M.D., received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School followed by pediatric residency at Los Angeles County Hospital/University of Southern California and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to returning to Austin, Yanger was an assistant professor of pediatrics at Northwestern University/Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Yanger serves as the quality director for the pediatric emergency department at Dell Children’s Medical Center and Advocacy Director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Dell Medical School.

Her research and academic endeavors have focused on quality improvement in the pediatric emergency department, including multidisciplinary work to optimize care for vulnerable populations such as patients with sickle cell, asthma and hemophilia. She serves as part of the Dell Medical School Pediatric Advocacy Committee, with a focus on fellow and medical student advocacy curriculum, food insecurity, injury prevention and access to care.
