Shannon Haslinger, M.A.
Senior Academic Program Coordinator, Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care
About
Shannon Haslinger manages the surgery clerkship and electives in Dell Medical School’s Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. She collaborates with faculty, staff and leadership to ensure the delivery of a robust and engaging educational experience for medical students.
Haslinger’s interest in higher education began when she pursued her master’s degree. Inspired by the grit and determination required to achieve advanced education, she developed a passion for supporting learners in their academic journeys. This commitment led her to teach adult education and community college courses before transitioning into medical education.
Her career in medical education began at UT Health San Antonio, where she coordinated the internal medicine residency and later advanced to managing the cardiology fellowship programs. These experiences fostered her enthusiasm for medical education and eventually brought her to Dell Med’s undergraduate medical education team.
In her free time, Haslinger enjoys reading with a cup of coffee, discovering new running trails, hiking with her partner and their dog, and staying active outdoors.
